On the 3rd April 2023, founder and director of Association Anoulak Dr. Camille N.Z. Coudrat was invited to give a guest lecture to students at the National University of Singapore, in a module titled Applied Biogeography. This module is taught by wetland restoration ecologist Dr. Gretchen Coffman. Dr. Coffman is a senior Lecturer, National University of Singapore, Geography Department who teaches wetland restoration ecology, biogeography, applied ecology and research methods in Physical Geography.
Camille gave an overview of the biodiversity and threats in the region of Southeast Asia, the Indo-Burma biodiversity hotspot and the Annamite mountains. She presented all the current work that Association Anoulak in implementing in Nakai-Nam Theun National Protected Area. Her Prezi presentation can be accessed here:
This opportunity aligns with the future direction of Association Anoulak towards capacity building of the next generation of biodiversity conservationists in the region. Indeed, earlier this year, Association Anoulak signed a partnership agreement with the the CENTER OF EXCELLENCE IN BIODIVERSITY of the NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF LAOS to promote biodiversity research, education, training, development of human resources and institutional strengthening in Laos. As part of this Agreement, Association Anoulak will work alongside the National University of Laos, and with the support other partners, for the capacity building of Lao students with scholarships and training opportunities.
